Inspired by the shamanic adornment of Africa, this necklace is created from tiny intersecting pieces of hand crafted horn to create a unique serpentine texture. Worn in single strand or layered in multiples to amplify the power of this talisman. Each necklace loop is approximately 230cm in length. Buffalo and cow horn is a primary material that is ethical and beautiful for many reasons. It is a by product of the food and farming industry, repurposed to reduce waste. Our pieces are made with no chemicals. Heat and oil is used to form the horn into malleable plates which are then sculpted into various forms. The jewellery gets its shine from the process of water polishing without the use of toxic ethanol, sealant or primer. The making is not an industrial process, rather it is a simple hand made, environmentally respectful process that does not cause pollution or waste. As this is a natural material, please accept the variations as an inherent characteristic beauty of the material, not a defect.
